History

1964

Shores Builders was founded in 1964 by Stephen D Shores, Sr. The company concentrated on remodeling and small commercial projects.

1987

In 1987 Shores Builders Inc. started to make its mark in the commercial construction field. Since then Shores has expanded their capabilities to include hospital remodel and additions; ICF/DD facilities and both assisted living and skilled nursing care facilities. Heavy civil projects, larger commercial projects, as well as new hospitals have also been added.

1993

In June 1993 the firm incorporated in the State of Illinois and changed its name to Shores Builders Inc. With many of the same staff of the original organization, Shores Builders Inc. continues to provide professional construction and construction management services to clients in the Midwest.

Today

Shores Builders Inc. corporate office is located in Centralia, Illinois. Shores Builders Inc. is a 100% private and family owned corporation. Their key management individuals are: Steve Shores Jr. as President, along with their Project Managers: Drew Shores, Greg McCoy and Shawn Laughlin who make Shores' operation run like the well oiled machine that it is.

At Shores Builders, we fully understand the need to coordinate projects and maintain strong partnerships with subcontractors and owners to deliver quality projects within the stipulated timeframe and on the owners predetermined budget.

Shores Builders Design Build Construction Management
Design Build/ Construction Management

We provide pre-construction services to the owner and the architect early in the design process to help develop project budgets. During that design process a guaranteed maximum price is established based on documents prepared by the design team and approved by the owner. We then manage the construction project to keep costs from exceeding that guaranteed maximum price. We also perform construction tasks for work packages in which Shores Builders is the low bidder. Self-performing these packages allows Shores Builders to help control and expedite the schedule.

With a group of highly trained staff and the most advanced GPS technology in the industry we can deliver finished projects to some of the most discerning clients faster, more accurate, and more cost effective than other competitors. Shores Builders prides itself in its extensive equipment inventory. This diversity of equipment and technology is ideal for site construction where a variety of material can be encountered on one job. With the right equipment and a qualified staff, Shores Builders can generate a precise production schedule before construction begins so we hit the ground running.

General Contractors

As a self-performing general contractor, Shores Builders joins your project team at the conclusion of the design phase, providing owners a traditional project structure. Our team performs General Contractor assignments on both a negotiated contract and a bid basis. We bring a team approach to projects, working closely with the owner and the design team to make sure the project goes uninterrupted from ground breaking to ribbon cutting.
