The project consists of the construction of a 16,500 sf Kaskaskia College Nursing Facility and associated site work. The building is one-story, slab on grade. This building includes poured concrete footings and foundations. The building’s structural system includes a steel frame including steel columns, beams and joists. The building’s exterior envelope includes brick and metal panel on metal stud back-up wall, curtainwall and storefront glazing systems, thermoplastic membrane low slope roofing over metal deck. The mechanical system includes ground-source geothermal heat pump system.

Design Build/ Construction Management

We provide pre-construction services to the owner and the architect early in the design process to help develop project budgets. During that design process a guaranteed maximum price is established based on documents prepared by the design team and approved by the owner. We then manage the construction project to keep costs from exceeding that guaranteed maximum price. We also perform construction tasks for work packages in which Shores Builders is the low bidder. Self-performing these packages allows Shores Builders to help control and expedite the schedule.
