We were the General Contractor for the construction of a 17,950-sf building and all associated sitework. The building is a one story slab on grade building consisting of a structural steel frame with a brick and precast concrete exterior. The building is utilized by Kaskaskia College for providing a secure and efficient facilities for non-credit Continuing/Community Education, Art Studio/Gallery, Foreign Language and Cultural Arts, Business and Industry Training Programs, and provide the constituents of District #501 with a conference room that will accommodate as many as 300 people, a catering kitchen, and a large multi-purpose divided space with movable partitions for six classrooms. Adorning the beautiful Lifelong Learning Center is a towering 50-feet- high clock tower.

Design Build/ Construction Management

We provide pre-construction services to the owner and the architect early in the design process to help develop project budgets. During that design process a guaranteed maximum price is established based on documents prepared by the design team and approved by the owner. We then manage the construction project to keep costs from exceeding that guaranteed maximum price. We also perform construction tasks for work packages in which Shores Builders is the low bidder. Self-performing these packages allows Shores Builders to help control and expedite the schedule.
